I am done buying Christmas trees, even though we have beautiful ornaments. Why to kill a tree to admire it for a few days, I asked myself. This year I saw potted ones, so I purchased one for the yard. As instructed, I dug a hole twice as big as its roots and given that we have soil full covered with stones I had to hack myself through the ground. At least 10 earth worms died in the process. I may have given birth to a tree, but some life got lost in the process. The good comes with the bad no matter what we do.
