Enlightenment does not happen sometime in the future. Well, it maybe, dependent on what meaning you give to the word. It would be like an academy awards title or a spiritual Nobel prize. Sure, spiritual giants like Ramana Maharshi or Sri Ramakrishna deserve to be put on pedestals, but this act of humility and endearment creates the gulf that keeps us from the Light. So, in this sense this use of the word is not very useful.
We may have been a sinner in the past and we may put our foot in once again tomorrow, but that does not distract from the fact that here now the Light is shining. The Light reaches us in frequencies that can be felt, seen and understood. Open heart, open eyes and open mind are the gateways allowing this vessel to receive this Light. You experience an interference as we speak? Open up and watch the ‘you’ dissolving in the Light.
