Seeing Oneness at work

 

 I look at the lilac bush in the morning sun. The last drops of last night’s rain sparkle like diamonds. One gets lost in the vision just like the artist gets lost in her painting or the writer disappears in his novel. Science tells us that we can never get our arms around the thing called self, or the world we perceive, but science hasn’t yet got its arm around Oneness, and the feat that the observer is the observed, as J. Krishnamurti was fond of saying. Well, actually, on a quantum level it’s a fact that the observation is dependent on the observer but few folks in the “real” world know what it implies for their lives.
