Who can say how spirituality first comes about. Maybe we spot the love and compassion that exists and wonder why others can’t see, feel and experience it quite that way. Maybe we discover how cooperation beats competition 1000 times but then meet people who talk about cooperation while being deeply competitive instead. There is power in the present moment and when we see, feel, sense and know it, the center of “me, myself and I” ceases to exist.
In spiritual communities almost every day someone comments on unexplained reoccurring number sequences that simply cannot be random. That’s what awakening is all about, it’s the dissolution of the center. It’s Oneness knocking on our door telling us, “hey, this fictitious character you have been carrying around is in the way of perceiving universal energy. Open you heart, your eyes and your mind and sense the higher frequencies that exist for everyone to connect to.”
I once said in a spiritual community that the goal of spirituality was the cessation of self, and someone replied that this goal is the ultimate by-passing. It can be, if the center of “me, myself and I” puts on spiritual clothes and works towards dissolving the center. But then, the power of now dissolves this spiritual agent once again. Everyone has access to living without a center; everyOne.
After posting this note, I went later that evening to bed and saw my wife’s computer powered down. It showed my initials with the catchy reminder “Clear Your Mind” and the time showed 11:11. I thought to myself, what kind of power can come up with something like this!
