The power of I Am

Awareness is, 24/7. The 13th century monk Meister Eckhart once said, “God is at home. It is we who have gone out for a walk.” What does that imply for us who are walking the spiritual path? It means that the story of the prodigal son is correct. No matter how much we partied the night before, here now, we can always tune into “Awareness is.”

A master was once asked by a student, “Master, was Krishna enlightened?” The master responded, “I doubt that.” The student was confused and asked again, “Master, were Buddha and Mohamed enlightened?” The master once again replied, “I doubt that.” Devastated, the student tried for the last time, “Master, was Jesus enlightened?” The master replied, “I doubt that too!” The student was near his tears and wondered what they were doing here if even the greatest in history didn’t measure up. Surely there was no hope for him. Finally, he had it and asked the master, “Is there then any hope?” Sure there is,” the master replied, “I Am That I Am!”
