Be still and know, I Am That I Am!

I woke up this morning after a good night’s sleep with the feeling, “yes, that’s how the God connection feels like.” The question is only, how to maintain this birthright when our mind starts chattering and we once again face life’s endless ups and downs. Sooner or later the old-familiar self-identity returns. For sure, the old familiar “me” returned today as well.

One thing we can do is to be aware of the interference—the existence of a self identity which is nothing but a thought that evolution has likely brought with it. I am sure there was a time when knowing our physical boundaries and weaknesses was beneficial, but this I-thought and feeling had taken on a life on its own and its damn hard not to be under its influence.

One simple conclusion is that every psychological thought and feeling is tainted, just as appealing to some true self is which is similarly a distorted intellectual concept. Self improvement is as effective as rearranging the deck chairs on the sinking Titanic. So, what to do instead? The Bible says, “be still and know that I Am That I Am.” That’s perhaps as good an advice for Home-coming as can be.
