There is a Universal Consciousness that is moment by moment. Our I-identification is part of it, and our power is realizing that we are That. Free will is an illusion in the sense that the individual who believes he has free will is the illusion. Understand this and the spiritual quest is over for good.
The founder of American psychology William James was often depressed and lived in cold New England without central heating in those days. It was hard to get up in the mornings, so he told himself, “get up!” Nothing happened. He repeated this a few times and then he got up. He asked himself, “why now?”
That’s how Universal Consciousness acts. The imaginary “you” can be part of the manifestation, or Creation unfolds without anyone around feeling responsible for it. Feelings, interactions, thoughts—they happen. We do not need to identify ourselves with them. All we have to do is to register and allow them to flow.
