Forget about disciplining the “me”

It is said that after Gautama had his break-through experience he went back to his wife and apologized, especially for leaving her just after their baby was born. “I forgive you,” she said, “but I have one question. Was it really necessary to leave us?” He told her that it wasn’t, but he didn’t know that at that time.

Effort is the “me,” J. Krishnamurti says. Striving for enlightenment is pointless. All methods to discipline the “me” are pointless. Running away from our responsibilities is pointless, but we can observe what mischief the “me is causing and adjust accordingly.

There is a F (low) of life, an E (nergy) that can be felt within and sensed without. It is the S (ilence) and L (ove) that acts. S-E-L-F reigns and in Its Presence the “me” vanishes altogether.

See, feel, sense and know SELF!
