Having an affair is painful for the partner and has karmic consequences but may be the beginning of a new life with someone special and maybe necessary for the soul evolution of all parties involved. Having multiple affairs is as useful as accumulating money for the sake of being richer than others. It may feel good at the time, but it is wasteful energy that will drag you down later.
Running after money, sex and power—after name and fame—is an escape. Catch yourself on the days when you feel a depression rising, when you feel bored or restless. Don’t just drown these feelings out with activities or entertainment. Sit with these messages from the depth of your being that now is the time to face them. The sex, power and wealth treadmill has been running since the dawn of humanity. It was an evolutionary need that was hardwired into us. Today is as good a day to see this link and end it.
