Tradition becomes our security, and when the mind is secure, it is in decay.
(J. Krishnamurti)
In my work as a financial strategist I was in some ways truly miserable. No matter how well I researched a case, no matter how much I trusted my intuition, or the people I worked with, missile after missile came out of the woodworks ready to strike down the case that I had so carefully laid out. Yet at the same time there was true MAGIC: just when I was about to give up on a case, the evidence would surprisingly go my way, and just when I questioned the loyalty of my friends, they would rally behind me.
GOD put me into this environment to teach me a thing or two about my fickle mind. In those days I felt a little like Luke Skywalker in training when he had to guard against the incoming laser-beams blind-folded. The mind is an instrument at our disposals just like our eyes, smell or our touch. In unity they can sometimes capture the MAGIC of the NOW. In isolation they are at best incomplete and at worst misleading. Face the thrill of the unknown, and find MAGIC there!
