This idea contains the first glimmerings of your true function in the world, or why you are here. Your purpose is to see the world through your own holiness. This are you and the world blessed together. No one loses; nothing is taken away from anyone; everyone gains through your holy vision. It signifies the end of sacrifice because it offers everyone his full due. And s(he) is entitled to everything because it is her birthright as Daughter of God. (A Course in Miracles, Lesson 37)
When I reflect on some of my spiritual friends, I see characters. Holiness doesn’t come to mind, not even wholeness, authenticity comes to mind instead. These people know what they want and they live it. They are loving and kind but they are no push-overs either. They will be happy to tell me when I am full of it and make no bones about it.
When I re-read lesson 37 of the Course in a Miracles, I noticed the expression, ‘see the world through your own holiness.’ The problem with religion is that we set ourselves up for a spiritual super ego. Don’t lose sleep over the question what holiness is all about, you just focus on authenticity and leave the rest up to God.
We are authentic when what we say, do, feel and think is identical. We are authentic if we live our soul mission and have left everything behind that hinders walking our spiritual path. It’s a little adjustment to get to that stage but it isn’t a big deal either. You just decide on the avatar you want to be and otherwise just let God flow through you.
Characters wanted for that spectacular ride. Are you ready?
