Karma is a tease

They say karma is a bitch. Well, it likely is because karma is self inflicted. We meet personalities and are thrown into events that simply trigger us into doing. Our reaction is instinctive and after we find the broken China on the floor, we are exactly at the same spot as before and another cycle awaits.

Karma is linear because our mind operates that way. Our mind says, “you hate that guy, why don’t you tell him what he needs to hear, and after he reacts so do we.” Afterwards our mind says with the same authority, “you shouldn’t have done this; this wasn’t spiritual!” Our subconscious takes notice and attracts the same trigger.

How can we step out of it? By being mindful of the entire dance. Taylor Swift sings, “Oh, my God, look at that face. You look like my next mistake!” That’s the beginning of awareness. That’s how we stop the dance when we get tired of it. Often it is not an all or nothing, it’s a gradual improvement—linear as our mischievous mind.

Karma burns itself out in time we we don’t add any more to it. The important realization is that nothing is linear when it comes to God. We can have deep realizations while committing serious crimes. Afterwards there is still work ahead but karma is there to present us with the work we need to do. Karma is a tease, not a bitch.
