Lose the groove

 First I gave up action,

then idle words,

and lastly thought itself.

Now I am here.

(Ashtavakra Gita)

When we run after fame and fortune, a mental groove will form independent of whether we get it or not. We are sure to identify with the day when everyone knows our name, or feel hatred towards the evil fellow who stands in our way. As the neurologists remind us, what fires together wires together.

All desires are outgrowth of our life-force. Negating them in the name of spirituality will not accomplish anything. We just commit suicide of sorts. The true “now here” is a lightening up of our neural network like a Christmas tree. No mental grooves can be formed because the experience is beyond what we can identify with.

‘I Am That I Am’ is the answer. It’s a stillness of mind, an embrace of the moment as is without any bias either way. We don’t give up action. We let the energy of the moment solve for it. We communicate what has to be said, but we are still inside. S (erenity) E (nergy) L (ove) F (low) reign. Suddenly, we are part of the life-force.
