On being without a center called “me”

The new age spiritual demand is, “don’t be an ego!” Or as the saying goes, do not let this institution “edge-God-out”! Sounds reasonable enough, but who exactly decides what is of God and what is man-made?

The ego concept is the same dualistic struggle as the old Judeo-Christian mandate, “do unto others as you what have them do unto you”. Good to know, but how to achieve it? Oneness has to be experienced, not dictated.

The heart feels, the eyes see, and our non-dual mind understands. Spirituality starts out as the desire to be good and avoid being bad, but the next level is to let go of self altogether. We are “good” because we are one!

There is an imaginary center crafted by thought and conditioning that tells us who we are, how we feel, and what is good and bad. This center is entirely made up and doesn’t exist. Recognize this center and let go.

Move from, “oh, this is a bad thought, I mustn’t think that way!”! to the realization, “there is an inner interference that blocks the movement of energy!” Find this illusionary center and help dissolving it.

When we say, “get your self out of the Way”, we are essentially saying that on the outside you can find the energies that make things “right”. On the inside, discover that center that once decided, “that’s me!”, and move on.
