The memory of the past unfulfilled desires traps energy, which manifests itself as a person. When its charge gets exhausted, the person dies. Unfulfilled desires are carried over into the next birth. Self-identification with the body creates ever fresh desires and there is no end to them, unless this mechanism of bondage is clearly seen. It is clarity that is liberating, for you cannot abandon desire, unless its causes and effects are clearly seen. I do not say that the same person is reborn. It dies and dies for good, but its memories remain and their desires and fears. They supply the energy for a new person. The real takes no part in it, but makes it possible by giving it, the light.

The moment when we grasp that everything we see and experience is energy, the game of self delusion and reincarnation is over. Have you experienced “cycling,” that is, reliving a scene and behavioral pattern over and over until one little change dissolves it completely? Insight on the workings of our self and the prevalence of Oneness works exactly like that. I have discovered that it takes a few things to break through an energy barrier:
Having a mission
Being flexible on the purpose
No one matters and everyone does
Seeing all participants and events as One
Eventually even missions, passion and purpose outlive themselves and all answers and understanding are contained in the here and now, but to get there takes a little effort. As it is said, it takes effort to realize that spiritual living is effortless. In the end everything is energy, and we are carried by it without any self involvement. Do the world a favor, end all desire and compulsive action, not by negating them but by grasping their meaninglessness. Life as is provides all insights to get to that stage.
