With Awakening came a new way of seeing and being. The Tao Te Ching fell into my hands early in the awakening and I started perceiving the world as the Way—a mysterious guide from the beyond—a playground that allowed me to simply be and enjoy life with a child-like innocence.
Alas, a little work was still ahead—the occasional confusion, depression and fear. A little later I opened up to A Course in Miracle, the Christian version of the Way. Trust in the guidance from the beyond, it says; purify and the miracle of the world of Oneness shall be yours, it promises.
The last stop in the quest was self inquiry as was practiced by Ramana Maharshi or J. Krishnamurti. Look inside, they say, see the illusionary self as is and open up to life as is that presents itself if the mind is still, the heart is open, and the senses are super-alert.
It has been a round trip of sorts. Oneness perceives—Oneness knows—Oneness acts. There is no self to speak off when Oneness prevails. The problem with promising folks magic is that the mind seeks it. The problem with telling seekers that there are light-workers is that it creates duality.
Enjoy the magic of the Way, and if there is still a little chipping away of outdated conditioning and naïve projections then so be it. It doesn’t matter much which path you choose up the imaginary mountain, at the end of the day the read thread of the Way is so obvious that everyOne can join.
