The Tao is a Mindless Place

I was sitting in the car like I do every day on my commute, only this time my wife was driving. Normally I seek the connection with the Source by listening to songs on the radio, watching out for messages from licence plate numbers, or simply by watching the beautiful interplay between clouds and the sun. Since it was raining, I couldn't really see anything up in the sky, and I also got a bit tired of my licence plate game, so I looked for new inspiration out of the side window instead. Suddenly I saw something amazing, the wind was pressing rain drops against the side window of the car. The most amazing bubbles formed, they grew in size, and seemed to be chasing each other and eventually merged in each other. I was speechless, there was so much frolic and joyful activity right in front of my eyes. I closed my eyes and thanked the Source for this wonderful experience. But when I opened my eyes to see more of the spectacle, it was suddenly gone. It was a nice reminder of the fact that the Tao is a mindless place; once you expect what to expect, the Tao is gone like a mirage.
