Today is a big day. I took my first vacation day to get started on my first book. My game plan is to first go through the many contributions I have accumulated over the last 3 1/2 years. Of course, I thought, a few minutes can also be freed up to run an errand or two, at last that was what I had in mind. And then reality hit home. My wife had to be driven to work since she had an important meeting to attend early in the morning. My boys requested they wanted to be picked up from school, the drain in our bathroom needed to be fixed, my son had to see a doctor, and this all came on top of the many other domestic projects I had carved out for the day.
Well, something like that had already happened to me once and I got really grumpy and decided that today this will not happen to me again. So I drove my wife to work and had little traffic to deal with, my boy's doctor visit got postponed; I also fixed the drain in a few minutes. When I started reviewing my previous posts I suddenly realized that I couldn't really zoom through them since many required some reworking, so I realized that even if I had more time, I couldn't really have done any more work today anyway.
The moral of the story: the Tao always knows best! If you really put your best foot forward in everything you do, life has a habit of sorting it out for you. Just trust your Tao!
