The Power of the Sub-Conscience

James Hillman in 'The Soul's Code' developed the notion of the acorn that slumbers deep down inside ourselves and at one stage in our life opens up and provides us with our mission statement. Once that stage is reached there is little you can do, all you can do is follow your mission-statement with everything you got. You are submissive to this force because you understand it is way more powerful than you are, though you become a creator of your destiny because you discover your mission statement like a scientist and the artist in yourself expresses your unique solution to your life's challenge. 

The Law of Attraction is very popular these days because people have discovered how powerful they are once they align their desires with their subconscious drives, and the process I am describing is actually pretty similar. We just turn the power base a little around and start from the spiritual assumption "Thou art the doer, not my conscience!" Let me understand the forces at work and most importantly how I fit into your game plan.

Let me give a simple example of this force you are submitting yourself, yet, while being able to express yourself freely like an artist and scientist: have you ever written a book?  How do you think it comes about? No my friend, the book is written by a higher force, you are just allowing this force to flow through your fountain pen. I remember an interview with a renowned writer who late in his life at a look at one of his bestsellers. Tears were flowing down his face and he exclaimed "Not I have written this!"
