On Pain

Daniel Coyle in 'The Talent Code' presents an interesting idea: the insights we arrive at with our struggles, the practices we stumble over and over until finally getting it right, burn themselves so much deeper in our souls and propel us to higher heights. His concept makes intuitively sense to me. Let me also give a personal spin on his idea. As you perhaps know by now, I see wisdom yoga as my spiritual path, and have discovered along the way that the journey home is pretty similar to a psychotherapy course on which all life episodes, if you truly embrace and digest them, remove layer over layer of interferences until one fine day you are able to discover what lies beyond. The struggle along the way gives you the changes in emotions that are required to truly absorb the insights with full intensity. We all know, new life comes with a little labor. But do you really think a mother will be disturbed by that memory when she feels the peace of mind of seeing her daughter graduating, or her son getting married? A little struggle is part of life - it will pay off handsomely in time!
