Growing and often Flowing

In a study women who had an affinity for low testosterone guys (the stable and kind ones that are likely to stay with you and raise your children but the ones that unfortunately look a little boring when you are ovulating) were asked to drop their birth control pill only to find that they lost interest in these 'nice guys' and were more attracted to more masculine men instead.

Wow, so much for our conscious ability to create the environment we are destined to have. A simple tinkering with our hormones will make us change our preference for our dream partner. So much about the 'go with the flow' motto. The truth is somewhere in-between. We can't 'go with the flow' all the times, but we cannot purely live by our spiritual super ego either. Reason and feeling have to marry, they have to live in a harmonious relationship, each respecting and looking out for the other.

I think of a spiritual journey like an athlete would get ready for the competition. You use your will-power for spring training, but you let it rip when you are finally in the play-offs. No-one has any right to tell you how to live, but if you are seriously interested in living a spiritual life you will have a number of conscious decisions ahead of you which will not always feel right. May you grow spiritually and, more often than not, may you flow along the Way.
