When the Eternal Observer Meets the 'I'

It is so quiet now,
I can observe the "I".
She is absent most of time,
only the experience is present.

You can feel the tickling sensation in every cell,
can hear the running water in the aquarium tank,
can smell the sweetness coming from the oven,
can taste the rough texture of a pear,
can see the trees move like a wave,
can experience the "I" arising from sleep.
What a wonderful afternoon,
so playful, cheerful and revitalizing!

The eternal observer can sense the "I" taking over,
when I talk to people,
when I perceive the anxiety,
the hunger for control,
when I feel the expectations creeping up in me.

I can sense the "robot" taking over,
when I am preparing food or
in response to rushing and rudeness;

I can experience the silence,
when I am watching everything.
When I experience the sound, or
the smell and the temperature
of my environment.

Just as the sky is sometimes
full of clouds and sometimes perfectly blue,
I am at the same time
empty and full,
gray and colorful,
changing and still.

The sky is the limit,
full of potential and beautiful,
I am just like the sky!
