The Wholeness of Yin and Yang

When people see some things as beautiful,
other things become ugly.
When people see some things as good,
other things become bad.

The Tao doesn't take sides;
It gives birth to both good and evil.
The Master doesn't take sides;
she welcomes both saints and sinners.

(Tao Te Ching)

There is a reaction and counter-reaction in everything we do - the yin and yang of life. When you see one side of a coin always remember the other side. If you are open to everything life brings your way, there is nothing really to do, nothing to get upset about, nothing to fear. Just let the pendulum swing back and forth without getting in its way.

Every exuberance is followed by a depression. Be open to both. The problem is that we don't like to feel blue; yet this color is part of the beautiful rainbow too, isn't? We don't like it if we make mistakes yet what would be perfection without it? We don't like discomfort but how would we be able to appreciate comfort without it? Similarly, unhappiness is a prerequisite for experiencing happiness, just as the state of misery necessitates the experience of bliss. Thus far you have only welcomed half of your life, we encourage you to be open to all aspects of Her presence. The intersection of all colors is really beautiful just as the rainbow is.

Seeing is believing.  You can actually see and realize that your life is really made up by the dynamics of yin and yang. Try to observe these forces in your life as well and welcome everything that comes your way. When you see yang know that yin is around the corner and when you see yang, know that yin is not far. Watch the dance of yin and yang, it is fascinating to behold. We are not saying to detach yourself from life, we are saying to be mindful of all the connections. There is an invisible threat that holds everything together; you can very much study it and once you do you become curious and enthusiastic about everything the Tao has in store for you -  You welcome and fully embrace your life!

 When you no longer anticipate anything and when you no longer evaluate anything, you have the ability to live in the divine Now.  You can experience instantly the peace in every moment of your life.  Take whatever flows into your life with gratitude and acceptance, you feel instantly grateful and joyful for whatever is happening at this moment.  You can instantly see the beauty, strength and bliss in everything and everyone. You suddenly "see" the invisible thread behind all and you are part of it. You know that through you the Tao is unfolding Herself.

Therefore the Master
acts without doing anything
and teaches without saying anything.

Things arise and she lets them come;
things disappear and she lets them go.
When her work is done, she forgets it.
That's why it lasts forever.

(Tao Te Ching)
