Put Your Oxygen Mask On Before You Assist Others

Sacrifice is a notion completely unknown to God.
(A Course in Miracles)

Why did Buddha inflict suffering on his family when he left behind his loved ones to seek enlightenment? Yet, on the other hand, how could he have loved them anyway had he stayed behind with a broken heart? You can only love when you live your mission and discover who you are. Suffering and sacrifice don't help everyone.

When you don’t have peace in you, whatever you do is contaminated. Buddha went out, conquered his demons and returned from his mission with true blessing. As it turned out, he didn't just bless his family and kingdom, but half of humanity that way.

We all need to understand who we are, love ourself and discover the mission we have to fulfill to make God's plan whole. Without that journey you cannot start that creative spark in your loved ones either; so without it, you cannot really love others. Think of the advice when you travel on airplanes, you are being told that in an case of an emergency you have to put on your oxygen mask first before you help your loved ones with theirs. Yup, take that advice for all aspects of your life!

We are not saying to retreat to a meditation center in Nepal to find God. Buddha already did that for us. Find the mission that makes you the spiritual giant you are born to be. Let life guide you in that choice. Along the Way everyone is being taken care off, so please follow that path. Buddha did whatever he had to; you do what works for you and your loved ones at the same time. When you have found your mission you will be surprised how much support you have from those who mean the world to you. Along the Way there is peace, love and conviction. Find it!
