The Circle of Trust

How much trust do you have in life?  Do you ever think that your anger, and resistance about what happened to you in the past could have been caused by your lack of trust? Just imagine how you would handle similar situations when you knew that you could walk on water instead. This is the trust a spiritual traveler has in the Way.

Suffering is rarely caused by the unfolding events; it is often the result of our opinions on how things should have been otherwise. When we completely trust in life - when we believe that the Way is working out a concrete plan to get our mission implemented - we will look for the silver lining in every situation.  With this mind-set nearly every situation can be turned around and we can experience the real blessing life has brought us.

A Tao traveler will get a feel for life's messengers. Some will urge us to speed up a little in some situations, while others will encourage us to slow down on different occasions. Some will remind us to think big, while others will show us the fine-prints when it matters. The more we become in tune with everything that life presents, the easier everything will get. Life always gives us positive feedback - we just have to be willing to adjust our perspective all the time. It is a virtuous cycle in the making: the more we listen to life's messengers, the better we can handle every situations that is coming our way, the happier we are. On and on the circle of trust advances until one day we know that life always looks out for us.

Life is here to bring us Home - unfortunately few would see it that way. A spiritual path is here to reprogram our perception. Things that mattered in the past suddenly becomes less meaningful, while stuff we didn't pay much attention to suddenly means the world to us. We are transforming from a mind-set of "me, myself and I" to pure love; we are transitioning from having to being. Life - our accepted spiritual path - brings that transformation. We just have to quit standing in life's way. The key for spiritual success is simple enough, welcome all of life's messengers and it will be a joyful ride.
