Energy and Life

You can regulate your life just like you can use an AC and a heating system to adjust the temperature in your house.  We cannot control the weather and temperature outside, but we can regulate the temperature of our indoor environment. Similarly, we can use techniques to influence life's tempo. You learn the art of when to take action and when to take a rest.  You can learn to lead a balanced life.

We can use meditation, exercise and sleep to recharge. We can join like-minded communities and read inspiring books to surround ourselves with good energy. Or we can become one with nature to remind ourselves of our roots. When we recharge with the help of these techniques we will feel energetic and enthusiastic to take on life's challenges. On the contrary, when we feel tired and exhausted, we feel overwhelmed and tend to withdraw from life. So the extent of how much we can engage and enjoy life is pretty much determined by our energy state.

This is the art of walking a spiritual path.  You know your energy states and learn to compensate. By observing your daily activities, you know which activities consume your energy, and what environments recharge you. You know that you can walk on water with the help of the Way, and you know that not being connected to the Way is a big waste of time. Get your energy balance right first, everything else will take care of itself.

By deliberately engaging in these recharging activities, you uplift, reserve, and activate some high frequency energy inside you.  If you do these activities daily, it is like you recharge your biological battery. Now that you are all recharged and ready to dive in and enjoy your life. Conversely, a spiritual traveler will also do whatever possible to stay away from the negative energy fields. Not being connected to the Way really hurts, so you engage with energy draining environments only if you absolutely have to.

Walking the spiritual path is all about learning these insights. And while you have to accept life's ups and downs just like anyone else, you can always maintain a steady energy balance.
Isn't it fun to have the temperature control system right next to you?
