Paths to God: Two out of Three Ain't Bad

Now don't be sad,
'cause two out of three ain't bad.
(Meatloaf, Two out of Three Ain't Bad)

My co-author Su Zhen has been after me for a while to mediate regularly. I try to convince her - with little success - that walking the Way is meditation as well. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna tells Arjun the three ways towards God:
Some realize the Self within through the practice of meditation, some by the path of wisdom, and others by selfless service.

Well, mine is the path of wisdom and the path of service. Along the Way you run after your desires, but God wraps them up as presents in every act of service. Discovering God in everything that comes our way is true wisdom. As a matter of fact, when you travel the Way, wisdom, service and meditation merge in one magnificent act. But even if the Buddha-style stillness eludes me for the time being, two out of three ain't bad.
