Your Mirror Holds the Key

It's like you're my mirror
My mirror staring back at me
I couldn't get any bigger
With anyone else beside of me
And now it's clear as this promise
That we're making two reflections into one
'Cause it's like you're my mirror
My mirror staring back at me, staring back at me.
(Justin Timberlake, Mirror)

Could it be that everything that happens to us in our life is a reflection of our own belief system, aspirations, tensions, projections and subconscious drives? Could it be that everything that we encounter today is self-created in one way or another? A powerful insight if true, isn't? Just imagine, we would never have any reason to blame external circumstances anymore. The solution to every challenge, struggle and disappointment solely lies within.

So if you are experiencing a difficult relationship with someone else; if you try to run away from the pain, cover it up somehow or cut this person out of your life for good, your limitation will simply stay with you. Certainly, you can use your old strategy of just projecting your pain and inner tensions on the other conveniently, yet it is as effective as putting make-up on your mirror image. Treat her kindly - your friend holds the key for your own happiness. Until you recognize this and dissolve the pain and conflict inside, your sister will always be foreign to you.

Magically, once you are willing to make the change within, the outer tension will also go away. Our friend may change with us or may disappear from our life. One way or another, this conflict just dissolves. When you realize that all your interpersonal conflicts only reflect back your inner conflicts, you are finally able to take the problem by the horns. It is Valentine today, why don't you write her a friendship card and make the internal adjustment that is long overdue.
