You have choice. While life wraps itself around you, and you may have fewer degrees of freedom than "The Secret" wants you to believe; but you always have a choice how to respond to a situation at hand.

Certain reactions are automatic and this is always based on what you have done in the past. To truly have a choice means that you have to live a spiritually kosher life, otherwise you are just spun around by your thoughts and emotions like a helpless marionette in a puppet play. But walk the Way for a while and realize that you in fact have a choice in every situation.

If you always do what you think is spiritually kosher you will have to accumulate negative energy over time. This is your "I" complaining, feeling abused by the aspired higher self. Along the Way you have to take care of yourself - all aspects of your being. Who exactly decides what is spiritually kosher and what is not? Only you can decide that in accordance with the Way. Find the right balance that works for you in the holy now. For every situation there is always a choice that expresses your soul longing perfectly. More than that, let life - the Way - help you find yourself. Your choice in response to life defines you - make it a good one!
