The LORD is my shepherd. I lack nothing. HE makes me lie down in green pastures. HE leads me beside quiet waters. HE refreshes my soul. HE guides me along the right paths for HIS NAME's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for YOU are with me. YOUR rod and your staff, they comfort me.
(Psalm 23)
How exactly should we deal with the "ego"? Isn't it just like the skin of a snake that one day just falls off? It is the wear and tear of life that does the job. If you travel the WAY every exchange, occurrence and conversation is designed to take a little steam off. Every step of the WAY is an opportunity to dive deeper into life while letting go a little more of the persistent voice in our head. Certainly, for people who do not practice the craft of the WAY, life may have the opposite effect, it may in fact pull you deeper into the intrigue, into the karma, into the yin and yang of life.
Walking the WAY is seeing the ego in action, while appreciating the SIGNS in the busyness of life. It is to remember when we are in the valley that it is the interference of our ego that makes us perceive the negative situation we are in. Just as we remember when we sit at the banquet that others need to be fed as well. Life is an ongoing CONVERSATION with GOD. Dive right in and see in amazement how the ego dissolves as the FAITH is discovered. The LORD is my shepherd. I lack nothing.
