Reaching for the Phallus

There was a man who loved science and academic knowledge. He made it his job to be that in-between academics and the financial industry. He was well regarded given that applied economic and financial market research can sometimes be superficial and narrow-minded. Yet, as the decades went by it became clear that he wasn't really interested in helping his audience. He wanted to lecture the 'uninformed'. Apparently he had a superiority complex. Who knows, perhaps he himself didn't quite make the cut for the heavy duty research, and he needed to compensate for his lack of confidence and insight by lecturing others.

When you meet someone who gets a penis enlargement to impress women you probably wonder if that is a wise decision, yet, those who run after name, wealth and fame are accepted just fine, and often admired. Yet, it is exactly the same desire to be someone special. Perhaps more carefully hidden behind eloquent words, fancy outfits and intimidating postures and actions, but for us spiritual travelers the same distraction from our mission to find GOD.

The desire to be someone big only comes about when we fall small inside. At the end of the day that's why we are here in earth school to find our idiosyncratic solutions to these problems. Our spiritual mission will make us feel good about ourselves. We learn to look through the illusions, and we grasp that we are already perfect. 

It is not wrong to find opportunities to express ourselves, it just becomes a problem when we don't allow life to show us that we feel small inside. No matter how carefully disguised, the fear of littleness can always be spotted easily. Sooner or later grown men need to let go of their toys. So when you discover this struggle inside of yourself, zoom into the problem statement and discover the wealth inside of you. Everything you need you already have. You don't need to reach for the phallus.
