Have it Your Way

Burger King had a slogan, ‘have it your way’. As it turns out, this can be the downside of spirituality. We feel entitled to have it our way when we try to cut out all distracting energies in the name of spirituality. ‘I couldn’t tolerate his energy’ we say, or ‘I couldn’t make myself do it’, not to mention, ‘this 3D world doesn’t get me!’

As you can see for yourself, there is a lot of ‘Me’, ‘Myself’ and ‘I’ in these statements. How do we in fact figure out what is ‘the Way’, and what is our own self-indulgence in the name of spirituality? It is not so hard to figure out. Let life talk you. Life as its ways to get through to you. Learn to understand what every event and encounter stands for.

It is quite all-right to struggle. It is ok to arm-wrestle with people who have different wave lengths. What is not ok is to waste our time and energy on distractions. Sometimes ‘having it our way’ leads us astray because life wants to communicate that something is off. Sometimes, coping with what annoys us is part of the healing journey.

Let’s walk the Way, and we will always have it our way in the end. Even more, one day we will realize, we can have it our way every step of the Way.
