Quit Seeking

Happiness is your nature. It is not wrong to desire it. What is wrong is seeking it outside when it is inside.
(Sri Ramana Maharshi)

When the Wall Street banker runs after money we cringe and think that he is just wasting his time. After all, doesn’t he know that money cannot buy happiness? What is all that working and striving for in the end?

Yet, when the spiritual traveler runs from guru to guru in search of enlightenment we say that at least he is looking for the Way. Still, isn’t he also miserable inside, looking for something from the outside to fulfill him?

Go within! Discover the source of restlessness. Money is a filler because we feel little inside. Spirituality is a filler because we feel miserable inside. Happiness is here and now inside of us. Quit seeking!
