The Road Trip

We are driving at night,
seeing the illuminated road before us.
The light beams are God’s Guidance,
the darkness our human handicap.
It’s always the same movie,
an interplay between darkness and light.
Yet, we are moving forward,
to a destination of our choosing.


True, some time the sun will rise,
and we shall be in awe of the Dawn.
Still, what’s missing in the present moment?
The music is playing on the radio.
Our loved one is talking.
The coffee’s fragrance keeps us awake.
Here and now is as good as it gets.
Isn’t it?

When will the journey stop,
we might ponder.
God already knows the answer,
but for us without a clock,
the answer is simply this:
the moment when we stop asking,
‘Are we already there yet?’
Truth is, we already are!
