The Secret behind ‘The Secret’

It is a world of scarcity in which you find yourself because you are lacking.
(A Course in Miracles)

Many of you know Rhonda Byrne’s bestselling ‘The Secret’, the bold claim that the universe is our oyster as long as we believe it is. Actually, I wouldn’t even be surprised if God gave us these powers of creation with the tricky part that it is hard to overwrite our conscious as well as subconscious beliefs. Diseases, losses, disappointed love, financial difficulties are wrenches that life regularly throws into our works, and it is hard to gather the mental belief that these things are not bound to happen yet again.

Let’s concern ourselves with wholeness and the path towards it, is my answer. Let God show us what abundance really looks like for us specifically. ‘The Secret’ to life from my perspective is really ‘The Serenity Prayer’, that is, ‘change what you can and accept what you have to, and be wise enough to know the difference’. It is our job to do something about the perceived littleness and scarcity because God’s Kingdom is all about abundance. At the same time, finding out what really is meaningful is our job too.

Every day is an opportunity to demonstrate that we are not an ego. Every moment is an opportunity to perceive God’s Abundance even here on earth. The secret behind ‘The Secret’ is that we can align with God’s Kingdom. It is ok to perceive scarcity in our life somewhere. It’s not ok to believe that God’s Kingdom could be anything but whole, loving and abundant in all of Its Manifestations. If you find littleness or scarcity anywhere in your life, ask what you are overlooking or do something about it.

The Course in Miracles says that our only degree of freedom for change is on our mind level. This is the true secret behind ‘The Secret’. When you watch the folks who live in the Now you see so much appreciation for what is. You see the joy and light-heartedness and you wonder, ‘what do they have in the water that I don’t?’ The answer is, they don’t carry the weight of the past, not the anxiety about the future. They have problems just as we but by living in the Now they focus on God’s Abundance instead.

Littleness and scarcity is of the mind. Let God show you Abundance!
