Just laugh a little ...

It’s Christmas vacation and the boys wanted to play monopoly. I responded that I hate monopoly to which the oldest replied, ‘but you are an economist, you must love monopoly’. I visibly raise my chest a little and respond, ‘well, I am no longer an economist, I am an author now’, to which the younger replies, ‘how is that working out for you?’ (he is 11 now, this is him at a much younger age, but has always been the funny one). Well, I am on the floor rolling with laughter, only to find the older boy is getting upset with the injustice of the situation given that I tend bark at him when he makes fun of my recent professional choice. Our ego is just a story we are telling ourselves. Today it was a funny one.
