The Soul gets what it wants

We say the ego stands between us and God,
and that description is as good as it gets.
Yet, what exactly does it mean?

When we say, ‘the heart wants what it wants’,
don’t we really mean that we rush in like fools
to learn the lesson we are supposed to learn?

Our Soul connects out story over lifetimes.
It confronts is with our deepest longings
and forces us to face our biggest fears.

We are on a journey with no destination,
and the Soul will let us us know
when it is a good time to stop for good.

When we say ‘the heart wants what it wants’,
we acknowledge that we set ourselves up
for the lessons along the Way.

Who can say what is good and what is bad.
Who can say what is right and what is wrong.
It is always the best of times, and the worst.

Mind, heart and life are all part of God’s maya.
We are being set up every step of the Way.
To make sure that our Soul gets what it wants.
