Mindfulness along the Way

Reality is everywhere, and to find it ‘you’ must first disappear.
Poonjaji

Many of us spiritual travelers know something about mindfulness. Mindfulness is a lot more than the spiritual yoga and meditation session. We can be mindful right here in the busyness of life. While our friend is talking we suddenly hear the birds having a field day over the food they just found. The ‘I’ disappears at the moment because we cannot appreciate God’s beautiful canvas in front of us, listen to our friend, and have our own agenda at the same time. It is always an either or. Listen to God and the ‘I’ disappears automatically.

The mindfulness techniques sell books and fill seminars but they rarely work. We just play mind games with ourselves. The ‘I’ disappears when we are truly silent or when are with God. Along the Way we Awaken to the ‘I Am That I Am’ state that Poojaji describes. Folks who have a strong heart connection can keep a check in the voice in the head, but for me life—the Way—makes me realize that the ‘I’ perception is as fluid as a cloud formation. When you go out there today, get lost in the magnificence of the Now. God is always nearby, you just have to look!
