‘Yes’ and ‘No’, and Occasionally ‘Maybe’

A successful life is created by two words—yes and no.
Have the courage to say ‘yes’ only when it feels right,
and ‘no’ to the old pattern that no longer serve you.
(Yung Pueblo)

We spiritual travelers have seen glimpses of Her. Unfortunately, these Visions are fleeting, but when we see Her we know unmistakably. It is easy to say ‘yes’ to God when we see Her. Encouragingly, when we travel the spiritual journey these Visions come more and more often as we manage to eliminate our self-imposed interferences.

Like-wise, recognizing self-imposed interferences also gets easier. We scan suddenly hear the babble in our head that we presumed to be us before. We recognize the twisted stories that we tell ourselves and we manage to step our of them, giving Truth is chance to shine instead. The pain of separation gets so unbearable that we increasingly stand up to our ego rants.

The true mastery of spirituality, however, lies in the maybe. An uttered ‘no’ may in fact be our spiritual super-ego, whereas a perceived spiritual vision may in fact be spiritual by-passing, a desire to read some spirituality into a mundane occurrence. How does it matter if we make a few mistakes. She will patiently explain all our mistakes to us if we are just patient enough to listen.
