The bar is getting raised

Today, the average high school student has the same anxiety levels as the average 1950's psychiatric patient. We know the Pythagorean theorem by heart, but short-circuit when anyone asks us," How are you?" We don’t know. We don’t know.
(Blythe Baird, If my body could speak)

When I take a look around here in the spiritual community, I see that many of my friends having big spiritual break-throughs. I don’t know whether this is the big Ascension wave unfolding that many have been talking about. It could well be. At the same time, when I look at my 14 year old son, I see a lot of pressure on him. His mind is sharper than mine was at his age, but so is his anxiety level. He dulls his mind and senses with stupid video games just to get a little break. I was 30 in contrast when my compulsive habits started showing up. I am convinced that part of the Ascension wave is the problem that millions of modern day folks will desperately look for some peace of mind. The bar is getting raised on the next generation. Let’s help them to make the jump!
