The power of solitude

"One man runs to his neighbor because he is looking for himself, and another because he wants to lose himself. Your bad love of yourselves makes solitude a prison to you."
Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra

It’s easy to ride other people’s energy and feel uplifted and empowered in the process. It is nice to recognize the sister in a sacred exchange of spiritual energies. Yet, to find Divinity in solitude is harder. There is nothing to hold onto. There is no point of reference. Jesus went into the desert for 40 days. Buddha practiced meditation for seven. The last steps across the bridge have to be taken by ourselves. Our soul siblings can only lead us up to it. Relax, anything this outer world has to offer can be found inside, and then some. So when solitude presents itself embrace it, don’t run from it.
