The film

Most people are unhappy; and they are unhappy because there is no love in their hearts. Love will arise in your heart when you have no barrier between yourself and another, when you meet and observe people without judging them, when you just see the sailboat on the river and enjoy the beauty of it. Don’t let your prejudices cloud your observation of things as they are; just observe, and you will discover that out of this simple observation, out of this awareness of trees, of birds, of people walking, working, smiling, something happens to you inside. Without this extraordinary thing happening to you, without the arising of love in your heart, life has very little meaning.
 Jiddu Krishnamurti

A fear arises, a craving pops up, a memory stirs the depth of your being. Sometimes these mental trips are exiting, sometimes they hurt, but you can always observe how connected they are. They may be triggered by your surroundings but when you dig a little, you will always find an inner pain body that brings stuff to the surface and connects these mental trips. I had a big break-through when I realized that it’s not about having ‘proper’ cravings, or standing up to your fears; it’s not about being happy with them or sad, but rather, it’s about getting that all these thought, emotions and reactions take us away from what is. They act like a film, something that is foreign to us. We can’t shake off the film, we cannot wish it away. We can observe, however, how this film is connected to our inner restlessness and pain, and as we do, love with what is starts shining through.

Awakening is the realization that the film is stretched in some areas and has some holes in it in others. Sometimes we can see and experience the world J. Krishnamurti describes, sometimes we can awaken to the stories that pop up in our head. When you truly observe you realize that any moment, no matter how beautiful or miserable, is an invite to be free. The revolution is here and now, life as is was designed to Awaken us.
