The ultimate goal is goal-lessness.
When that is attained, nothing
further is required.
The solution cannot be found in time.
How much time is required to be
what one already is.
Wu Hsin
Being authentic means to be honest with ourselves. We are walking magnets, we put out our conscious and subconscious longings and the universe responds in kind. The more confusing our life is, the more homework we still have to do in sorting out what is important to us. Own up to what drives you. Be honest about what is important to you. Do not let your spiritual super-ego tell you how you should live. Life will confront you anyhow with what you repress so you might as well fess up now and do something about it.
Answers to our life problems can sometimes be found in a song. The Rolling Stones encourage us to find wisdom in life’s disappointments:
No, you can't always get what you want.
You can't always get what you want,
but if you try sometime you find,
you get what you need.
(Rolling Stones, You can’t always get what you want )
Sheryl Crow then sums up the peace that every spiritual traveler is bound to experience one day. One day in the midst of our business to get what we want it dawns on us, there is no need to aspire for anything, everything we ever wanted we already have:
It’s not having what you want,
it’s wanting what you have!
(Sheryl Crow, Soak up the sun)
Find your authentic self. Get working towards your goals, stand up to your fears and peace will reign way faster than you can ever imagine. As Wu Hsin put it so adequately, ‘how much time is required to be what one already is?
