The story of Mount Sinai in a parallel universe

On the first day of the third month after the Israelites left Egypt they came to the Desert of Sinai, and Israel camped there in the desert in front of the mountain. Then Moses went up the mountain and was surprised to see climbers from other tribes on the other side of the mountain. ‘Many paths lead to God,’ he concluded.

As he met God next to a burning bush, God said to him, ‘Why did you came all this way, I was with you at the foot of the mountain, but you did not see Me.’ Moses replied, ‘Yet all these other seekers found you here, so the soil at the top of the mountain must be holy.’ God responded, ‘It is, but so is the entire desert of Sinai.’ Seekers exert themselves to better let go of their selves in the process. It is fine. Still, there is no need, I Am everywhere.’

Moses said, the people of Israel need rules to live by. God replied, ‘It’s your job to find Me, whatever path works for you best is the one you should take. ‘Be still and know I Am God,’ is all you need to know. If you want to write something in stone, use this golden rule, your neighbor is yourself!’ Moses thanked God for his enlightenment, inscripted the golden rule on an impressive looking stone and made his way down to the tribe of Israel.

When Moses came down the mountain he found his people dancing half-naked around a golden statue of a calf and made merry. He laughed heartedly and mumbled under his beard, ‘Boy, this will be a long journey!’ He kept the golden rule for a later day and joined them in making merry. Surprisingly, he realized what God meant, even at night he saw light flashes and auras engulfing his sisters and brothers. Suddenly he saw, God is truly everywhere.

The end!
