The partly innocent are apt to be quite foolish at times.
A Course in Miracles
I browsed in one of these Law of Attraction bestsellers the other day. The book in question was ‘The Moses Code’ by James Twyman, but there are countless books like this one on the market. The reason why they are so popular, they claim that we can have the Moses power to part the red sea as long as we follow the calling of our soul. The claim that we are God’s able co-creator is essentially the archetype of the magician. Swing your well-intentioned wand and the seas shall part for you.
There is nothing wrong with this premise; the Law of Attraction is a fact of life. The problem is only that no one really knows what is buried in the depth of our subconscious; we can at best—and should—stumble into the direction our heart is calling. Yet, only God knows the outcome of that quest. The alternative archetype is that of the innocent who drifts like the famous autumn leave in the wind. ‘Not my will but Thine,’ the quest goes but the innocent is bound to stumble too, not knowing when to put his foot down.
There is a time to assert your yang energies and seize the day so to speak, and there is a time to be receptive like yin and listen to the quiet voice from the depth of your subconscious. That’s the Way in short. Often we Tao travelers just sit at the center of the circle watching the wheel spin without doing anything; everything is done for us and we enjoy the bounty. True power is to spot the creativity of the here and now and claim it. That’s the Way!
You know what, you can do whatever you want. As long as your goal is to return Home to our Source you shall, even if you dance naked around the apple tree ten thousand times in good faith. The reason why the subconscious journey Home takes so long for most, folks who run after their happiness do not know how to read the Signs of the Way so they miss out on the feedback mechanism of their subconscious. Pick the path that works for you and Spirit will guide you Home. It has to be, for you are That!
