You’ve always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself.
(Good witch, Wizard of Oz)
A university professor may have his eyes on winning the Nobel Price; he may approach his life ruthlessly to get it, always setting his eyes on what’s in it for him and his thirst for knowledge. We may have the insight to tell him that this burst of energy derives from an inner conflict, but unless asked, it’s really none of our business. Same for the successful business woman who is after profits and prestige, or the womanizer. One day they may look for a new path, but until then, let them enjoy the fruits of their abundant energy.
Spirituality has insights to offer for those who suffer from their inner conflicts; the victims who feel stuck, paralyzed and depressed. Every conflict of interest has a solution to it. Life coaches will take the inner conflict and catapult you in a new direction, maybe giving a purpose to the passions that you failed to acknowledge before, or worse, implicitly judged. Spiritual coaches will solve the inner conflict for good, but once again, there is no better or worse in this, only what your heart beats for at this moment.
The serenity prayer asks God to give us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, the power to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference. The truth is, we always have the power, we just have to know which power exactly: there is the power to manifest what is meaningful to us, the power to surrender to the unmovable obstacle in our way, and the power to get what we want by finding our way around it. Stuck energy, move aside, you have no business undermining our power!
