You know, a great river may become polluted as it flows past a town, but if the pollution isn't too great, the river cleanses itself as it goes along, and within a few miles it is again clean, fresh, pure. Similarly, when once the mind comes upon this sacredness, then every act is a cleansing act. Through its very movement the mind is making itself innocent, and therefore it is not accumulating. A mind that has discovered this sacredness is in constant revolution-not economic or social revolution, but an inner revolution through which it is endlessly purifying itself. Its action is not based on some idea or formula.
J Krishnamurti
I am not sure why J. Krishnamurti and our spiritual community is so obsessed with the mind. The purification process he talks about is about energies, everything we are all about, the energies of our own conditioning and karma, our ancestors and mankind is taken to the cleaners and is made whole, pure, and conflict-free in us. The mind slows down as this process unfolds and our heart-centered energy is allowed to flow freely. The mind grasp the healing process, just as the mind fights this process in the areas where our self-identity still clings to life’s duality. However, just as every river is bound to merge with the ocean and everything in its way is pushed merciless aside. We are bound to arrive. The fruit falls when it has ripened.
We are bound to drop anything that vibrates differently than unconditional love. Not because some spiritual or ethical standard tells us to, but because we converge naturally to this vibration. If anything, the spiritual super ego is in the way, life as is has to get us to this state when we are ready to let go of everything that we are not. Sometimes we have to dig in the dirt to reconnect with our original state of purity, but this so called shadow-work is just a temporary delay of a process that cannot be stopped. It’s part of laying a foundation that endures.
The mind can grasp wholeness; the mind can understand self-imposed interferences. Heart and mind can work in tandem on this spiritual quest. Wholeness, purity, love and holiness await.
