Avatars, divine mothers, enlightened masters, the very few that are real, are not special as persons. Without a false self to uphold, defend, and feed, they are more simple, more ordinary than the ordinary man or woman. Anyone with a strong ego would regard them as insignificant or, more likely, not see them at all. If you are drawn to an enlightened teacher, it is because there is already enough presence in you to recognize presence in another.
Eckhart Tolle
1. It it happening to me—victim
2. It it happening by me—empowered
3. It it happening through me—sovereign
4. It it happening without ‘me’ involvement—awareness
Everyone applauds the transition from victim to empowerment. The risk with the next growth phase is that spiritual ego defines the sovereign role we play in creation. Consequently, spiritual ego may also mind the last part in our spiritual evolution when all parts of self-identification drop away.
An old man sitting on the park bench may have a big contribution to the spread of positive vibration and love, yet, unless you have an antenna for that, you would go right by him. Not everyone goes all the way, and that’s quite ok because we all have our unique role to play in creation. We all evolve as high as we can.
