When I work with my clients I feel heart-centered energy emanating, the same is true when I write notes like this one or spend time with people I really care about. I understand now that serenity is a more potent force than passionate energy, which is the burning up of self-directed energy. Living our passions feels great, better perhaps than purpose-directed energy, but it still has plenty of ‘me, myself and I’ that gets excited expressing it.
Serenity beats passio, but only after the spiritual break-through becomes true serenity available to us. The risk is that we choose life-denying activities in our attempt to have an equanimous mind. It doesn’t work that way! This is a dead spiritual super-ego overriding our spiritual heart. Sex is the best example. How many monks torture themselves in their desire to be someone spiritual. Make love instead and set your heart free.
Live your passions until serenity lives ‘you’. It might be a process, but that doesn’t prevent us from having enlightened moments here now. There is wisdom in life. Just show up and let life take you to the dimension where time and space cease to exist. Your heart steers you there. Just listen!
