The subconscious agenda of self sacrifice is “to cooperate with others but to neglect yourself”. And then when we cooperate with others, we cannot help experiencing sadness and feeling self-neglect.
You don’t like steak but you force yourself to eat steak with others; you in reality prefer chicken, but for others, you neglect yourself. You are in reality very exhausted, but someone asks you to shop with them and you go along and then neglect yourself once again.
What’s beneath these behaviors? You want to get recognition from others. When we always live under this pattern, we will forget about ourselves and become distant to ourselves, and feel very neglected in the process. So you have to let go of the energy to cooperate with others and neglecting yourself or some health issues will arise.
